Hi Mark , I think so fondly about my Italian cooking holiday and enjoyed it so much. Thank you too for all your kindness and it was a pleasure meeting you. I am sure all who participate in A Taste of Rome cooking holiday write glowingly to you because it is well managed, and delivers exactly what you promise. I must admit I like countless others, including yourself, understand the love of Sabina. Please do keep in touch, and I hope all subsequent 'groups' have as good atime as we had!
A Taste of Rome's Italian Cooking holidays featured on Ireland's RTE ONE Televisions number one travel show ' No Frontiers '
We have two Italian Cooking holidays , a 3 night / 4 day long leisurely Weekend and for those who don't want to leave , a 5 day / 6 night break .
The aim of the cooking holiday is to immerse you into the everyday life of an Italian village . From the moment you arrive on the Friday to your day of departure , you will meet characters who will hopefully leave an impression on you and when you do leave ( be warned , you won't want to ) you will leave with a love for Sabina and its people and having learned a few recipes along the way.
During your holiday you will be staying in the beautiful historic Palazzos of Casperia and Sabina.
On arrival the first evening, we will give a welcome dinner where we will come together very informally and we will discuss the week ahead.
With each lesson there will be 2-3 hours in the kitchen where the emphasis will be on creating the traditonal dishes of the Cucina Romana - all wonderfully simple dishes using only the finest local organic ingredients bursting with flavour and whatever is in season. Recipes we are sure that you will be able to recreate at home .
Sabina is renowned for its fine Extra Virgin olive oil. Some of Italy's best can be found here . All small production but made made with a passion that can only be found in Italy.
Johnny Madge in is own imitable way will take you through the joy of the Extra Virgin olive oil .
The cooking holiday is organised to give a balance between the lessons and enough free time to wander down to the village cafes and enjoy a real Espresso and mingle with the locals and do as they do , relax and just enjoy the atmosphere, nothing is hurried here, everything is done at a different pace.
Sabina - is perfect walking and cycling country. There are a number of trails in and around the village taking you into a countryside of olive groves and orchards .
